2007 Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival will be held from Dec. 3rd to 8th. Deputy Secretary General of Guangzhou Municipal Government Zhao Nanxian addressed the conference. "Taking the opportunity of the festival, the government will strengthen its support and investment in the documentary film industry," he said.
According to the organizers, up to Oct., 2007, there were a total of 232 documentary films from 30 countries registered for the festival.
From Dec. 2nd to 9th, 74 selected participating films from 34 countries will be shown in five major downtown cinemas including Feiyang Cinema, May Flower Cinema, Youth Cultural Palace Cinema, Guangzhou No.1 Children's Palace Cinema and UME Cinema. The ticket prices will range from RMB 20 yuan to 25. Afterwards, these films will be shown in other big cities all over China.
During the festival, Guangzhou government will launch its collection of film promotion plans for Guangzhou worldwide on Dec. 6th. (For more information, please pay close attention to our special on the collection to be published soon).
